Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important priority globally for the PricewaterhouseCoopers network of member firms. The network has formed the Global Communities Board, made up of executives from its offices around the world, which aims to contribute in solving social and environmental issues, through the promotion of initiatives taken by the member firms. PwC member firms and our people believe that business has a positive responsibility to operate in ways that benefit society and foster its well-being on a sustained—and sustainable—basis. Our people here in Greece share this social responsibility.

In Greece the main objectives of our firm’s CSR programme, “U in Action”, are to bridge the gap that exists between the Greek education system and market demand, as well as to minimise our impact on the environment.

Based on the guidance of the Global Communities Board, U in Action has 5 pillars :

  • Corporate Community Leadership: guidance of aspiring and talented youth to the right educational and professional path (Scholarships Programme , Career Guidance, Student Support, Career Event, The Power of 10)
  • Environment: initiatives for the protection of the environment (Environmental Team, WWF collaboration, Environmental Summer Camp)
  • Provision of Professional Services: provision of pro-bono services to non-governmental organisations
  • Giving: funding of non-governmental organisations (Acts of Love for the Children)
  • Volunteering: hands-on support of non-governmental organisations

Our programme has received the “Best in Class Honourable Mention”, an international recognition award by the Global Communities Board.
