Chris Pitaluga joined the Firm in 1995 from a major bank trust company and has been a Partner in our fiduciary services practice for ten years. He is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers (now the Institute of Financial Services) and specialised in the Trustee diploma of that qualification. During his time with the practice, Abacus Financial Services, the Firm's fiduciary services subsidiary, has grown from a medium-sized general trust company serving clients in Spain and Portugal and employing less than 10 people to one of the leading players in the local market employing over 50 people with specialist departments serving clients across the globe. During that time, too, Abacus has become recognised as an employer of choice for its professionalism and its reputation as a quality service provider. Chris' specialisation in Trusts over the years has led to a number of important high net-worth client engagements for the Firm involving complex multi-jurisdictional structures. Chris enjoys excellent relationships with these clients who have come to regard Abacus as a by-word for trust and quality in a very demanding market-place. The stewardship of these Trusts requires direct, personal and on-going involvement with clients and their senior advisers and, in particular, the management of key banking and other professional relationships. More recently, Chris has taken on the responsibility for building the firm's Family Office capability, involving sophisticated structures such as private trust companies and purpose trusts, in addition to a wider remit for new business development for the firm as a whole. He still makes time for a growing family, being involved in local community activities, a passion for running and the habitual disappointment of supporting Arsenal football club. |
