PwC Gibraltar: Rifcom challenge 2009

A group of us from PwC Gibraltar recently participated in a challenging charity event in northern Morocco. Together with RifCom (a non-profit charitable organisation run by volunteers from Gibraltar and Spain who are committed to making a real difference to our neighbouring communities in the Rif Mountains of Morocco), our team spent five days out there visiting different villages and assisting in many different projects prepared by the organisers. As well as raising money for this charity, a total of 15 computers were donated, eight of which were donated by PwC. These were installed in schools, local women's associations and other facilities in these poor villages. We managed to keep our eight computers together and install in the local Chefchouen secondary school. These were set up as a network in one classroom which will be of great value to allow the students to develop their IT skills with their qualified IT tutor. PwC Gibraltar continues to contribute to this worthy cause since RifCom ensures there are numerous visits to this part of the world each year.
