Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT)

How effective are your company’s anti-terrorist security neasures?

In response to the increased focus on security in the United States, the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (Customs), is operating with a new emphasis on security. Accordingly, Customs has initiated the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program. The focus of C-TPAT is on importing companies’ supply chains, and the security measures put in place to prevent terrorist penetration. Customs is strongly encouraging all importers to join C-TPAT and has announced benefits for those companies that volunteer to comply.

Opportunity: Admittance into C-TPAT could lead to supply chain efficiency and security

In response to this Customs program, PricewaterhouseCoopers has developed a service offering to assist companies with admittance and compliance to C-TPAT. In order to be admitted to C-TPAT, companies must engage in self-assessments, security reviews, and program development. PricewaterhouseCoopers can help you compile the required data and complete the application and agreements that are a pre-requisite to signing up for the C-TPAT program.

By using our developed approach to C-TPAT, your company may more quickly experience C-TPAT benefits, which include a reduced number of cargo inspections, expedited inspections, and increased supply chain efficiency.
