How managing political instability can improve business performance*

Launch the political hot spots map.

Today, many multinational corporations gain political risk intelligence through the media and their "people on the ground". In many cases, this information can be biased or incomplete. There may also be varied interpretations of political events resulting in potential gap between field office and headquarters tolerance for political risk. PricewaterhouseCoopers and Eurasia Group have developed a more comprehensive, systematic approach for evaluating a country's political stability and risk.

Stability ratings are a general point of reference, but analyzing the impact of political instability on business prospects should be done at an industry and company level. An event in one region of the world can impact political risk in other regions of the world due to the effects of economic contagion, networked distribution channels, and the speed of media reports. Performing political risk scenario analysis can better prepare a company for the unexpected and unpredictable. Learn the companies can take now to improve global business performance.
