Chris Latham is a Partner in PwC Actuarial specialising in general insurance and accident compensation. Chris has been advising on all areas of actuarial aspects of accident compensation risks since the early 80’s. He has been an advisor to governments on changes to schemes in response to adverse experience, and has had particular expertise in the management over time of premiums and solvency in monopoly schemes.

Michael Playford is a Partner in PwC Actuarial with over fifteen years experience. His particular area of interest is in accident compensation, in particular worker compensation, and long term care.

Michael has extensive worker’s compensation experience in almost all of the Australian jurisdictions. He provides advice to workers compensation authorities in various areas including outstanding claims valuations, scheme cost, premium rates, agent remuneration, monitoring and legislative reform costings.

Christa Marjoribanks is a Partner in PwC Actuarial specialising in general insurance and accident compensation. Christa has over fifteen years experience consulting in general insurance, during which time she has gained considerable expertise in advising on a variety of both short and long tail portfolios in general insurance. Christa has previously held the position of Chief Executive of MIRA Consultants prior to the merger of MIRA with the actuarial practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers in June 1998.

Christa provides regular advice on outstanding claims for all classes of risk covered, as well as on premium estimation, experience related incentives for individual agencies, performance monitoring, and other matters. She has also been involved in review of scheme design and the development of various risk management performance reports for Australian accident compensation schemes.

Raewin Davies is a Director at PwC Actuarial specialising in general insurance and accident compensation. Raewin has over twelve years experience providing advice on various aspects of general insurance and health insurance.

Raewin has been involved in assessing the adequacy and projected profitability of CTP premium rates, including statutory certification. This work involves statistical analysis of large individual claims databases, projections of future benefits under various legislative environments, and scenario testing. She has extensive experience in development of experience monitoring systems for health insurers, as well as measuring insurer performance for the purpose of remuneration for a workers’ compensation scheme.

Andrew Smith is a Director at PwC Actuarial with over fifteen years experience working in the general insurance area on a wide range of assignments. Andrew is the asbestos modeling expert within PwC and consults to a wide range of clients in this area. He has also conducted a number of industry surveys on trends in asbestos claims experience to provide the insurance industry with greater clarity of industry trends, and has written a number of articles and presented at conferences on this subject matter.

Andrew is currently actively involved in assisting clients with estimating insurance risk margins. In conjunction with others at PwC he has developed a framework for combining both quantitative and qualitative investigations that provide a consistent, transparent and replicable process for assessing risk margins.
