(18/2007)
It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend our two-day IAS 39 training workshop. This event brings together a team of professionals with considerable IAS 39 experience who will present a highly interactive and practical two-day course designed to enhance your understanding of the significant implications associated with the adoption of IAS 39.
IAS 39, the new standard for financial instruments, is revolutionary. For companies that are significant investors, borrowers, or users of derivatives, the standard raises wider issues than any previous standard in any area of accounting.
The specific issues that face companies include:
- The classification of assets will require careful consideration because it also affects subsequent measurement.
- Companies will need to review all existing financial assets and liabilities and may need to separate and mark-to-market certain derivatives that are currently embedded in other instruments.
- The use of hedge accounting
- Changes may be required to internal risk management policies, systems, process, and procedures.
The workshop is located at Bangkok Club, Sathorn City Tower, Sathorn Road, Bangkok on 15 – 16 October 2007 at 8.30 – 17.00.
The workshop will be conducted in Thai language. Speakers are PwC Partners, directors, and senior managers, who have experience in implementing/consulting on IAS 39.
