Michele has recently been admitted as a Partner in the International Financial Reporting Standards conversion practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers based in Auckland . Prior to her promotion, Michele was a Director in the IFRS Conversion Team of PricewaterhouseCoopers. Previously Michele worked in the National Technical Accounting Group of the firm providing advice on complex financial reporting, statutory and regulatory reporting issues.
Michele's career has included experience both as an auditor and preparer of financial statements and as a reviewer for the Practice Review Unit of ICANZ.
Michele's current role entails assisting with IFRS conversion and training clients on IFRS issues. Michele co-ordinates the firm's internal and external training courses and is a frequent speaker at seminars on financial reporting issues.
A member of ICANZ's convergence and tax working groups charged with the responsibility of converging New Zealand financial reporting standards with IFRS, Michele is well placed to advise and educate preparers, auditors and users on IFRS transition issues.
Michele has provided IFRS training and conversion advice , including advice on the requirements of IAS 39 to: ASB Bank, Fonterra Co-operative Group, Foodstuffs, Genesis Power, Mighty River Power, Christchurch City Council, Office of the Controller and Auditor-General, Society of Local Government Managers, Ports of Auckland, Auckland Regional Council and Juken Nissho Ltd.
Stephen Hogg is a director within the International
Financial Reporting Standards conversion practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers
based in Auckland. Prior to joining the IFRS team in 2004 Stephen had
spent 10 years working in assurance including 5 years of overseas experience
primarily in the investment management industry.
Stephen’s current role entails training clients on IFRS issues
and assisting with IFRS conversions. Stephen’s particular focus
within the PwC IFRS conversion team is on financial instruments and hedge
accounting. He is the internal PwC initial reference point for queries
on IAS 39, has presented externally on the impacts of adopting IFRS and
is involved in our internal training programmes. Stephen’s clients
include: SKYCITY, Fisher & Paykel Appliances, Fisher & Paykel
Healthcare, Gough Group, Auckland City, Fonterra Co-operative Group, Mighty
River Power, Abano Healthcare, CanWest MediaWorks, Software of Excellence,
Briscoes, Caltex and Vector.
Rachel White is a Director within
the Accounting Consulting Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers
based in Auckland and is a member of the Firm’s Global ACS Group.
Prior to joining the ACS team in 2004 Rachel had spent the previous seven
years working in industry both in house and as a consultant after an initial
period of seven years in a CA environment.
Rachel’s current role entails training both clients and staff on
International Financial Reporting Standards issues and assisting with
IFRS issues arising in complex transactions. Rachel’s particular
focus within the PWC ACS team is on the classification of financial instruments
and accounting for business combinations.
Sarah Bate is a Senior Manager in the Accounting
Consulting Services practice at PricewaterhouseCoopers, based in the Auckland
office.
She originally trained as a chartered accountant in New Zealand and has
worked in both the United Kingdom and New Zealand; with various roles
in Audit and Technical divisions of Big 4 firms.
She has knowledge of UK, NZ and IFRS GAAPs, and served on the New Zealand
Institute of Chartered Accountant’s Conversion to IFRS working group
during 2003-2004.
Currently Sarah is involved in assisting audit teams with NZ IFRS transitional
issues and providing NZ IFRS training to the assurance division.
Duncan is a senior manager based in our Wellington Office. He transferred to New Zealand in 2004 after spending over 13 years working exclusively in our Government and Public Sector practice in the UK . His experience in the UK includes the management of large and complex local authority audits and the provision of technical accounting advice and finance training to the public sector.
Since arriving in New Zealand , Duncan has continued to specialise in government and public sector work, and his recent assignments have included work for both local government and the OAG. Duncan 's IFRS clients include Wellington City Council, Wellington Regional Council and a consortium of 13 North Island local authorities.
Kathryn Hall is a Manager within
the Accounting Consulting Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers
based in Auckland.
Kathryn started her career in the audit division of the PricewaterhouseCoopers
Birmingham office in the United Kingdom. Kathryn has been with PwC for
6 years and has spent the last 18 months exclusively advising our clients
on IFRS conversion. Kathryn’s current role entails assisting clients
with all aspects of IFRS conversion, including technical advice, training,
calculation of opening balances and embedding IFRS into systems and processes.
Kathryn’s particular focus within the PwC ACS team is Business
Combinations and is part of our global team in this area. Kathryn’s
clients include Turners & Growers, ZESPRI, DHL, Mitre 10, Methven,
DDB New Zealand Limited, Independent Liquor New Zealand Limited, Blue
Star Print Group, Macquarie New Zealand Limited, Universal Music and a
number of Local Council Authorities around New Zealand
Mariann Trieber is a Manager within the International Financial Reporting Standards conversion practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers based in Auckland .
Mariann started her career in the tax division of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Budapest office, in Hungary . She was transferred to New Zealand from the Jersey office, Channel Islands , where she was on secondment for two years. In Jersey , Mariann specialised in accounts preparation under UK GAAP and IFRS . Mariann's clients included Swisscom, AVIS, Prudential and Egg.
Mariann's current role entails assisting with IFRS conversion. Mariann's IFRS clients include: Auckland City Council, Mighty River Power, Genesis Energy, Air New Zealand , Sky Network TV and Bluestar Print Group.
