The International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium or (ISC)2, the non-profit international leader dedicated to training, qualifying and certifying information security professionals worldwide, was formed in 1989.
(ISC)2 is dedicated to the enhancement of professionally recognized best practices for information security professionals.
Based on the world’s most comprehensive common body of knowledge, (CBK™), maintained by working professionals around the world, (ISC)2 has developed a portfolio of rigorous certification programs for experienced and new professionals employed to manage information security.
Certifications
(ISC)2’s flagship certifications are the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®), considered the Gold Standard™ in the information security industry, and the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP®).
Practitioners succeeding in meeting the standards of knowledge and requirements of each certification are acknowledged as professionals in the field of information security. Private industry and government agencies are requiring CISSP and SSCP certifications in recognition of the skill and experience that supports the certifications.
A major point that sets the CISSP apart from other security certifications is the breadth of knowledge and experience necessary to take the exam. The CISSP certification requires information security professionals to be knowledgeable in a broad range of security issues, based upon the CBK.

PwC Academy, will host (ISC)2 examinations and promote and deliver the officially sanctioned five-day (ISC)2 CBK® Review Seminar. The seminars will provide an international complement to PwC Academy’s own security management courses, developed in support of national certifications, with Academy candidates receiving a discount for the CBK seminar.
