Fraud and corruption are serious risks for all organisations, as recent high-profile cases have shown. Dishonest behaviour can undermine operating efficiencies and reliability, and serious cases can severely damage an organisation’s reputation.
The development of a whistleblower protection policy is an important element of any effective fraud prevention and mitigation strategy and clearly demonstrates the organisation’s commitment to good corporate governance and comprehensive fraud and corruption risk management.
At PricewaterhouseCoopers we understand these issues and we are committed to working with our clients to deliver the best whistleblower management and investigative outcomes, and providing service delivery of the highest standard.
How PwC can help you
Our services include:
- Reviewing our client’s Whistleblower Protection Policy and Procedures, if any, to ensure that it is consistent with best practice and relevant standards and complies with any relevant legislation
- Tailoring, implementing, and in many cases independently managing, appropriate methods of receiving whistleblower disclosures on behalf of our clients, including a dedicated telephone line which is answered by our experienced investigators
- Developing and assisting in the delivery of comprehensive staff awareness and communication programs, including advice on appropriate communication tools and the delivery of training sessions for staff
- Providing feedback to those who use the whistleblower service. When assisting callers, our investigators attempt to establish rapport and trust. Although some callers may wish to remain anonymous, all callers will be encouraged to identify themselves. This assists greatly with managing the welfare and expectations of the whistleblower, allows for efficient feedback and also assists with undertaking investigations into disclosures
