Customs compliance: ImportFolio™ and ExportFolio™

How can your company take full advantage of duty planning opportunities on its US imports and/or exports?

One of the common challenges facing companies is the inability to determine a complete and current "footprint" of their import and export activities. This is, in part, due to the decentralization of customs compliance within most companies and the use of independent customs brokers, which results in the inability of companies’ access to complete import data. If a company does not have a comprehensive understanding of its customs function, it may experience higher tariffs and duties, more supply chain interruption, and increased overall costs and an inability to systematically identify cost saving opportunities and potential areas of risk.

Oppportunity: Obtain an overview of your import/export activities

PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has developed ImportFolio™ and ExportFolio™ to assist companies with import and export compliance issues and international trade planning. The basis for our analysis is your company’s aggregate US import and export information as obtained from the US Customs and Border Protection Service and the US Census Bureau. PwC will work with your company to analyze this information and assist in developing a strategy that will enhance your import and export operations from compliance and cost efficiency perspectives.

In addition, we can detail the customs bond sufficiency, ABI usage, compliance measurement and other operational exams, protests, FP&F cases, anti-dumping and countervailing duties. The results of our analysis will be compiled in a user friendly report with a summary of various recommendations for cost saving and compliance risk reduction opportunities.
