GroupSystems is the result of extensive research into group behaviour,
meeting effectiveness and collaborative processes. The software
is designed to enhance interactive group activities - for example:
brainstorming, categorising and voting. It has a range of applications
e.g. risk & controls assessments, strategic planning, business-process
reengineering, innovative problem-solving etc, so as to be used
in all kinds of industries and companies.
Workshop participants are provided with a laptop computer connected
to a local area network (LAN), to provide a fourth channel of communication.
The innovative feature of this software is the ability of participants
to "talk" through their fingertips and "listen' with
their eyes, thus simultaneous and anonymous communication is enabled.
The use of GroupSystems has significantly improved the productivity
of workshops compared to conventional approaches. Not only has the
subject been explored in more depth, but each participant is able
to make a much greater contribution to the discussion. In a meeting
of 15 people, traditional methods only allow an average 4 minutes
"air time" per person per hour - and 56 minutes of listening
time. With this four channel of communication everybody gets the
full 60 minutes to make his or her contribution. Small wonder that
this technology significantly improves workshop productivity.
