With many companies having now completed their IFRS transition projects, some having produced their first interim or quarterly information and the first round of annual reporting coming soon, it is a good time to reflect on what has been achieved to date and what still needs to be done.
This paper, which is supplementary to our global publication Implementation challenge, from our UK energy, mining & utilities group highlights key issues which should be at the forefront of preparers' minds as they approach their first full year of reporting under IFRS. We have also taken the opportunity to reflect on how accounting might develop in the future and we trust that this publication will help the industry set an agenda of accounting topics for future discussion.
