This year, we focus on tactical ways that CPG companies are defying the recession — by containing costs, re-investing in core competencies, and a continued commitment to environmentally sustainable and responsible growth. We also examine how the CPG business landscape might be quite different for some time and how companies are responding; as well as some of the ways the industry is working to emerge from this recession: stronger, leaner, and better poised for future success.
The 2009 report also contains an analysis of where the industry stands in relation to the current economic downturn and reviews the financial performance of high performing companies to highlight common characteristics.
