The AIM Survey of Canadian Companies, a quarterly survey by PricewaterhouseCoopers, tracks the number of Canadian Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) on the London-based Alternative Investment Market (AIM).

Operated by the London Stock Exchange, AIM was launched in 1995 and has since emerged as the most successful growth market of its type in the world, developing rapidly both in terms of the number and diversity of companies admitted and the range of institutional and retail investors.

Key findings for the second half of 2007

  • Total number of issuers by December 31, 2007 was 1,694 — up from 1,656 at June 30, 2007
  • Number of international issuers by December 31, 2007 was 347 — up from 319 at June 30, 2007
  • Number of Canadian issuers by December 31, 2007 was 42 — up from 41 at June 30, 2007.
