The South Africa findings from 2007

During the second half of 2007, we conducted research into the Total Tax Contribution (TTC) of 50 of the largest companies in South Africa. The primary objective is to encourage transparency and to place information in the public domain to facilitate an informed debate about South Africa’s tax system.

The survey used the PwC Total Tax Contribution framework to provide information on total business taxes borne and taxes collected in South Africa. This framework has been successfully used in the United Kingdom, Australia, and a number of other countries around the world, and we are pleased to present the initial results of our research.
