Global Economic Crime Survey: Turkey Report

Global Economic Crime Survey 2007: Turkey Report We are pleased to present the results of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Global Economic Crime Survey 2007: Turkey Report.

We have interviewed senior representatives from 105 leading companies within Turkey, providing us with an unparalleled
depth of insight into perceptions, awareness and impacts of economic crime on their businesses.

In conducting this 2007 survey, we have been fortunate to collaborate with Professor Bussmann of Martin-Luther- University
in Germany. Based on his expertise, we have further explored
three topics:
  • the profiles of fraud perpetrators;
  • the effectiveness of fraud controls; and
  • investigating fraud and action taken;
Is fraud a real concern for companies in Turkey? Based on the results of our survey set out in this report and our experience of investigating fraud, we believe that fraud is a significant and growing threat to companies in Turkey resulting in above average financial losses and major impacts on company reputation both within Turkey and the wider global business environment.
