On April 22, 2008, Alberta’s Finance and Enterprise Minister, Iris Evans, presented the province’s 2008 budget. Most notably, the budget introduces a refundable tax credit on scientific research and experimental development expenditures. It also eliminates the province’s health care premiums on January 1, 2009 (four years earlier than expected).
