The Latin American alternative investment funds segment (which includes hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds) has begun to flourish. Many new funds are being formed in the region, with Brazil and Argentina serving as hosts in many cases.
While emerging market funds around the world are, on average, four times larger than Latin American funds, the growth of the alternative fund industry in Latin America has been outstanding.
