Solvency II: Quantitative Impact Study 3 results: Summary

CEIOPS have now published their analysis of Quantitative Impact Study 3 (QIS 3) - the latest test of the impact and implications of the forthcoming Solvency II regulations. There are still many issues with the regulation that need to be resolved, but participation in the QIS allows companies to understand where the regulations are going, and how they are likely to be affected.

Please be aware that these are interim results and they will change as the European Standard Formula for the Solvency Capital Requirement gets refined and recalibrated. The next impact study - QIS4 will take place in April 2008.

If you are uncomfortable with the results or the approach taken within the current proposals, we encourage you to participate in the debate and analyse the impact on your own business. The latter can be done by performing the QIS 3 analysis or engaging in the next QIS 4 that will commence in April 2008.
