2006 was record year for entertainment and media transactions with total disclosed deal value of $114.6 billion, a record not seen since 2002. It was also a year of mega deals in the industry. There were 16 completed deals with transaction values greater than $1 billion, totalling $90.7 billion or 79% of the total 2006 deal value.
