Many companies have embraced electronic messaging, gaining improved collaboration and productivity enhancements. While these benefits have improved business performance, the have also exposed the enterprise to new threats. Instant Messaging (IM) / Peer-to-Peer (P2P), FTP, electronic faxing and email are necessary collaboration tools, yet unsecured, they expose the enterprise to potential intellectual property loss, breaches in privacy and viruses. As the broader impacts of electronic messaging on the enterprise come to light, so too does the need for enhanced enterprise security.
