The CIP group is the largest group in the Tax and Legal Services Department and provides tax and legal services to Irish plcs, major multinational corporations, semi-State organisations and a variety of significant privately owned Irish companies. Our clients operate in a large range of different industries such as retail and consumer, pharmaceuticals, engineering and construction, food, energy and utilities. This broad base provides our team with a challenging and rewarding portfolio.

In order to provide our clients with a thorough solutions package, you will regularly liaise with colleagues in the VAT, Customs and Human Resource Services groups. You will also work closely with our colleagues in overseas offices, with audit teams and with our colleagues in legal services. Ultimately, we utilise this internal network of knowledge to assist us in bringing state of the art solutions to our clients.

The Role:
As a Tax Director within our CIP group, reporting to the Tax Partners, you will have a key role in our business; managing existing client relationships and developing new ones with a high level of autonomy. You will also have d irect responsibility for the management and development of a team of tax professionals.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a portfolio of consumer and industrial products clients, the portfolio is likely to include at least one Irish plc and a multinational company with a major Irish presence.
  • You will be expected to run significant engagements on a day-to-day basis as well as providing a strategic and tactical input into the development of PwC’s relationship with the client.
  • Your work will require co-ordination of all tax services from PwC Ireland. It will involve a high level of interaction with offices in the PwC international network, so that the client’s strategic objectives are understood and satisfied appropriately.
  • Direct responsibility for the management of a diverse team of tax professionals including staff development and performance management.
  • Developing and maintaining new products and services
  • Participation in non-client projects and events
  • Sharing knowledge skills and experience

Education/Professional qualifications:

  • AITI/ACA qualification or common law jurisdiction equivalent
  • Relevant 3 rd Level Degree

Experience Skills and Personal Qualities:

  • 3+ years experience as a Senior Manager within Practice (or Industry with Practice background.)
  • Experience in business modelling, mergers & acquisitions and foreign direct investment.
  • Experience managing tax affairs of large multinationals of Irish & foreign jurisdictions.
  • You will thrive in an environment where teamwork is key; and believe that the working environment should be flexible in meeting the needs of its people.
  • Excellent delegation skills and a proven ability to manage and develop junior members of the team by setting the example, to drive the business forward.
  • Ability to take direction form Tax Partners and Clients.
  • Excellent organisational and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
