Our approach
PwC sustainability solutions evaluated the EH&S and product integrity/toxicology functions within the overall sales and administrative infrastructure for this company. For its North American and European operations, a combined consultant/client team performed an assessment, re-designed and developed improvement recommendations for the:
- EH&S organisation;
- Staffing;
- Management system;
- Function/processes; and
- Associated costs.
The assessment was subsequently extended to address integration of EH&S functions associated with this company’s merger with another Fortune 500 speciality chemical company.
The outcome
This assessment provided the client with alternatives for the EH&S organisation/function, reflecting:
- Improvements in work process;
- Streamlined staffing recommendations; and
- The ability to better control expenses.
These improvement alternatives provided the company with options for leveraging savings for the company and the merged firm.
