The results are the product of survey undertaken on behalf of PriceWaterhouse Coopers (PwC) by the Steadman Group Ghana. Steadman undertook the field work between January and February, 2008. 103 CEOs took part in the survey which involved face-to-face interviews with CEOs. During interviews, respondents (CEOs) were asked to choose three companies and CEO’s in Ghana that they most respect in order of importance. They were also allowed to nominate themselves or their companies. They were then each asked to provide reasons for their nominations based on a set criterion, as follows:

Most Respected Company - Databank

Databank received approximately 14 first place nominations, significantly higher than any other company. Out of these nominations, the most compelling reason given for choosing Databank was the company's 'Unique & Excellent Leadership Skills' within the industry, a quality which accounted for 36% of reasons why CEOs chose this company. Databank was further cited for being 'Visionary and Innovative' (29%), a criterion for which it garnered the sole mention within the top three companies in the survey. Databank was also cited for showing Good Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility (21%) and lastly for its Excellent Business Culture (14%).
Most Respected CEO - Prince K. Amoabeng (Unique Trust Financial Services)

Prince K. Amoabeng of Unique Trust Financial Services garnered 19 first-place nominations in all, establishing him as the leader of the pack. The most compelling reason for the nomination of Mr Amoabeng was his Ethical Standards which attracted 37% of nominations from colleague CEOs.
26% of CEOs also acknowledged Mr Amoabeng’s Resourcefulness. Unique and Leadership accounted for 21% of CEO nominations. Mr Amoabeng’s Vision and Innovation also earned him some respect. 16% of his peers said so.
CONCLUSION
Ghana’s Most Respected Company and CEO Awards 2007 was an initiative of PricewaterhouseCoopers (Ghana) Limited in collaboration with Business and Financial Times.
