HR Controlling 2008: Measuring performance of Human Capital

  • Will the lack of employees be reflected in the salary increase in 2009?
  • Do your employees receive a similar business car to those in other companies?
  • Will the unemployment decrease influence the fluctuation of employees?
  • Do your management want information regarding benchmarks in specific areas?
  • Is the absence rate in your company common or higher than in similar companies?
  • Do you invest enough into your employees’ learning?

If you are interested in these and similar topics, then we invite you to participate in our traditional PayWell and HR Controlling surveys.

HR Controlling: Measuring performance of Human Capital

In 2008, 112 companies (pdf 100 Kb) operating on the Czech market participated in the HR Controlling benchmark study.

The HR Controlling survey is based on the Saratoga international methodology, which is successfully used, for example, in Slovakia, Russia and Romania. The survey offers useful instructions on monitoring HR management effectiveness by the key HR indicators from these areas:

  • Productivity and added value
  • Salary and staff benefits
  • Absence and turnover
  • Employee recruitment and selection
  • Learning and development
  • HR department
  • Workforce structure

From the survey results you can obtain accurate information on monitoring of particular indicators (pdf 92 Kb) and also their market values from comparable companies in the Czech Republic. Thanks to international methodology, comparison with European companies is also possible.

Apart from the final report (pdf 75,3 Kb), you also obtain an interactive HR Scorecard comparing the values of each of your company’s indicators with the market of your choice.

For example, you can find out the following from the survey:

  • Termination rate
  • Reasons for employee turnover
  • The usual cost of hiring new employees
  • What profit comparable companies achieve per employee
  • How firms use outsourcing for HR services
