LONDON, 16 October 2006 — Dr Steve Arlington and several other industry specialists are being appointed to expand the breadth of expertise offered by the pharmaceutical and life sciences practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers member firms. These appointments form part of an ongoing drive to develop and build the group’s performance improvement capability. Their primary focus will be advising pharmaceutical and life sciences clients on a range of issues covering manufacturing, business development strategy, R&D and sales and marketing.
Dr Steve Arlington brings a wealth of experience to the team and will be working to bring innovative solutions to issues facing clients in areas including R&D effectiveness, strategy and patient compliance. He has over 15 years consulting experience, 10 years of which focused on pharma and life sciences. Steve has worked with many of the larger pharmaceutical and life science companies on R&D strategy and effectiveness and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and a member of the Drug Information Association.

Todd Evans has joined as a director in the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences Advisory Services group with responsibility for working with pharmaceutical and life sciences industry clients on a wide range of supply chain management issues. Todd will advise clients on channel strategy and design, logistics strategy and design, strategic sourcing and purchasing, cost management, and demand planning and is located in the Chicago office.
Also joining the same team as a director is Holly Kramen. Located in the Los Angeles office, Holly will be responsible for working with pharmaceutical, biotech and life sciences industry clients on marketing and sales issues with a particular focus on enhancing compliance and productivity in these areas. Holly is an attorney and brings broad expertise in pharmaceutical marketing and sales operations and healthcare law throughout the entire product lifecycle. Her background includes experience in operational mergers and expansions, training compliance programs, and leadership, strategy, management and sales training. She specialises in providing advice on practical applications of compliance requirements affecting marketing and sales activities as well as and in analysis, design, implementation, training and documentation of supportive processes and systems.
Noreen Dowd has been appointed as a partner in the performance improvement team in Australia to focus on planning and change in the healthcare sector.
These recruitments build on key appointments during 2005 such as Sandy Johnston who joined as a director to lead the performance improvement team. Based in London he works on strategy, process and technology in the areas of R&D, commercialisation and supply chain.
