New study to reveal the hidden tax burden faced by large Canadian companies

TORONTO, May 5, 2008 — In a new study to be released on Monday, May 12, 2008, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will reveal how Canada’s total corporate tax burden may be impeding the country’s ability to compete on a global scale.

Finance ministries across the country have expressed interest in this new research and are looking to the results to better understand how Canada can use tax policy to stimulate the growth of globally competitive companies.

Media are invited to attend the launch and are encouraged to pre-book interviews with PwC and representatives of the Canadian Council of Chief Executives (CCCE), which commissioned the research.
