VANCOUVER, May 8, 2008 — PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) will hold a news conference on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 to release the findings of a comprehensive survey on the overall performance of B.C. mining industry in 2007. Representatives of the government and the province's mining industry will join PwC to discuss the survey findings and implications.

This annual, independent survey of the BC's mining industry's financial results and impact on the provincial economy has been the definitive industry report for 40 years. It is prepared in cooperation with the Mining Association of BC (MABC).
The survey findings will be presented by Michael Cinnamond, partner, PwC BC Mining practice and Gerrie van der Westhuizen, Manager, PwC. Short presentations and a question period will follow with panelists: The Honorable Kevin Krueger, BC Minister of State for Mining; Dave Parker, Chairman, Mining Association of BC, and Director of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Teck Cominco Limited*; Dan Jepsen, President and CEO, Association for Mineral Exploration BC; and Flemming Sorensen, Chairman, Mining Suppliers, Contractors and Consultants Association of BC.
