New Head of PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Tax and Legal Services in Ukraine
The team of PwC in Ukraine has been further strengthened with the appointment of a new Tax and Legal Services Leader. This news is following the recent appointment of Boris Krasnyansky as Country Senior Partner.
Ron Barden has been appointed Senior Tax Partner for the PricewaterhouseCoopers Tax and Legal practice in Ukraine. Prior to this appointment he led the tax and legal practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers Romania and has been working in the CEE/CIS region for over 11 years. Ron has an extensive experience in international tax and legal matters, particularly in developing markets. His key areas of expertise include taxation of complex cross border transactions and inward investment, and he is an acknowledged expert in Financial Services and the telecommunication/IT industries. He has been extensively involved in a number of the largest privatisations and acquisitions in the region.
Ron was born in Australia in 1961. He graduated from University of New England in Australia with a degree in Finance Administration. He is a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and has been with PricewaterhouseCoopers since 1988. Prior to this he worked as a tax accountant in Sydney and Cairns (Australia).
Ron's career with PricewaterhouseCoopers began in Canberra, Australia and he subsequently worked in International Taxation in Fiji, Kenya and Russia. In 1995 he accepted the challenge of establishing the first international tax practice in Romania and over the next decade he developed the practice as the clear leader in the Romanian market.
From 1999 till 2005 he was a Board Member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania and head of the Tax sub committee of this Chamber. In this capacity he was directly responsible for many initiatives that resulted in positive changes to the Romanian business environment.
