PRESS RELEASE
26 October 2007
PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has always placed great emphasis on students of high academic calibre, supporting them on every possible occasion. Acknowledging the importance of these young people and the role they will play in future business, PwC sponsored this year, for the first time, a series of welcome parties for four prestigious UK universities.
The welcome parties were organised by the “Cypriot Student Society” of Imperial College, the University of Nottingham, Lancaster University and the University of Cambridge, for students who would commence their studies in the academic year 2007-2008.
The events for the University of Nottingham and Imperial College were held at “Eleon Leisure Park” on 6 and 7 September 2007, respectively. The welcome party for Lancaster University was held at “Cleopatra Hotel” on 12 September 2007 and finally the party for the University of Cambridge was held at “Laiki Sporting Club” on 14 September 2007. All events proved to be a great success and a large number of new and existing students from all four universities attended.
PwC was represented in all events by Mr Evgenios Evgeniou (Human Capital Leader), Mr Marios Melanides, Ms Charis Anastassiadou and Ms Nicole Heracleous from the Human Capital Department, as well as other PwC members who are alumni of these universities. A brief presentation was also made by Mr Evgenios Evgeniou and students had the chance to interact with PwC staff members and ask them questions about their career path, opportunities and development.
PwC will continue to support similar events in the future, in order to strengthen even further its close relationship with students of the highest standard.
