PricewaterhouseCoopers and Junior Achievement of Lithuania have signed an agreement extending the long-term co-operation between these two organisations.
Under the agreement, PricewaterhouseCoopers will provide a support of 132,000 Litas (33 000 USD) for achieving the goals of the educational programme undertaken by Junior Achievement of Lithuania that was approved by the Lithuanian Ministry of Education and Science on 13 November 1999.
"I believe the work of Junior Achievement makes a significant contribution to preparing young people for participation in business life, " said Hugh Thomas, Senior Partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers. "We, at PricewaterhouseCoopers, are very pleased to continue our support".
The above-mentioned programme helps young people in Lithuania better understand the principals and ideas of free market economy by getting directly acquainted with sound business practices and ethics. The program aims at education of the future consumers, employees and business people enhancing their understanding of the role of business in the country's economy and the impact it provides on their lives.
Important feature of Junior Achievement programs is a close cooperation between education system and business society. Upon completion of this programme young people will be better prepared for the future irrespective of which profession they choose.
