Dave Caputo, Sandvine Inc.

Dave Caputo is the co-founder, president and CEO of Sandvine Incorporated. Prior to co-founding Sandvine, he was the vice president of marketing for Pixstream, one of Canada's most successful technology companies. Launched in 1997, Pixstream was sold to Cisco Systems in 2000 for more than $500 million. At Cisco, Dave was managing director of the video networking business unit. Dave holds an MBA from the University of Toronto, a computer science degree from York University and is also a graduate of Wharton's executive education program.

Susan Allen, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Susan Allen is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, specializing in private and public technology companies. She spent two years in Silicon Valley, at our San Jose office, where she worked with public, private and startup companies in the software and networking sectors. Susan is also the GTA leader of the firm's Technology, InfoComm, Entertainment and Media practice.

Bernard Anzarouth, Constellation Software Inc.

Bernard Anzarouth works closely with vertical market software businesses to identify and pursue opportunities for platform and tuck-in acquisitions and to establish licensing or distribution arrangements. Before joining CSI, Mr. Anzarouth was AVP Business Development for Ascom Inc., a Swiss-based technology corporation. Prior to that, he held various positions with IBM.

John Beardwood, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP

John Beardwood is a partner with the law firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, practicing in the Toronto office. John is engaged in a corporate/commercial practice, with an emphasis on outsourcing, information technology and privacy law-related matters. John is listed among the world’s pre-eminent Internet and e-commerce lawyers in Who’s Who Legal - The International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers. He often advises clients on privacy law and access to information matters, and has managed numerous privacy compliance programs.

Mike Gittings, Fresco Microchip Inc.

Mike Gittings joined Fresco Microchip Inc. in May 2007 and serves as vice president of marketing and sales. Prior to Fresco, Mr. Gittings was the director of marketing for AMD’s digital television business unit. At AMD, Mike was responsible for global DTV receiver products. He established ATI (acquired by AMD) as the world’s leading supplier of ATSC integrated HDTV receiver ICs. Mike was a pioneer in home networking, wireless interconnectivity and cable compatibility, in addition to leading strategic activities such as technology evaluation and acquisition, standards establishment, and partnerships.

Kenneth Gordon, Goodwin Procter LLP

Ken Gordon is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Corporate and Technology Companies Groups. He has more than 16 years of experience representing privately held and publicly traded companies, investment banks, venture capital firms, and emerging and public growth companies. Mr. Gordon concentrates his practice in the areas of general corporate representation, corporate finance and acquisitions.

Bruce Lazenby, Corum Group

Bruce Lazenby is a technology entrepreneur who helps software companies grow and expand internationally. He is the Chairman of the Ottawa Software Cluster and sits on selected boards and committees. He was voted Canada’s Private Sector Technology Leader for 2005 by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance. Bruce is virtual CEO and virtual CMO in selected companies. He is also the Canadian Regional Director for Corum Group, the world’s largest seller of privately held software companies. He is a regular speaker at conferences around the world.

Stuart Lombard, Avaning Inc.

Stuart Lombard is the President and CEO of Avaning Inc. an early stage technology company developing a residential green automation platform. Prior to Avaning, Mr. Lombard was a partner with JLA Ventures, a technology venture capital firm based in Toronto. Prior to joining JLA Ventures in 1998, Mr. Lombard was co-CEO of two successful start ups, Isolation Systems Ltd., which was sold to Shiva Corporation and InfoRamp Inc. which merged to form iStar Internet before a successful TSX IPO. He is a director of QuickPlay Media and sits on the Advisory Board of JLA Ventures.

Scott MacDonald, Emerald Technology Ventures

Scott MacDonald is a partner with Emerald Technology Ventures, a global leader in cleantech venture capital. Founded in 2000 under the name SAM Private Equity, Emerald is a pioneer in this rapidly emerging sector and is focused on innovative technologies in energy, advanced materials and water.

Mel Machado, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Mel Machado is an associate partner in the Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and is the firm's national Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) advisor.

Peter Matutat, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Peter Matutat is a partner in the Audit and Assurance Group of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and specializes in technology, where he advises clients ranging from early stage development companies to publicly traded multinational enterprises. Peter worked in PwC's technology practice in San Jose, California from 1999 to 2003, and now serves as National Leader of the firm's Emerging Company practice.

Greg McIntosh, Cyence International

Greg McIntosh is the president and CFO of Cyence International Inc., and has served as a member of the board of directors for the past six years. Responsible for overseeing all of the day-to-day operations, Mr. McIntosh has provided leadership in the definition of the company's strategy, vision and values. Under his leadership, Cyence has achieved significant growth, evolving from an entrepreneurial start-up to an industry leader in its domain.

David Nyland, Blueprint Software

David Nyland is president and CEO of Blueprint Software, where he is responsible for all aspects of the company's operations. As a seasoned chief executive, Mr. Nyland spent four years as president and CEO of NBS Technologies, a publicly-traded company involved in manufacturing and distributing hardware and software solutions for the payment and smart card industry with operations in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China and Brazil.

Mark Penner, Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP

Mark is a partner with the law firm of Fasken Martineau DuMoulin LLP, practicing in the Toronto office. He is in the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Group with expertise in the acquisition, protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights in the chemical, pharmaceutical and biotechnology areas. Mark's practice focuses primarily on the drafting and prosecuting of patent applications in this area of technology, but also involves the IP aspects of corporate transactions (e.g. financing, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures) such as protection of confidential information, trade secrets and know how, conducting due diligence, as well as technology acquisition and licensing.

Stephen Pollack, PlateSpin Ltd.

Stephen is a seasoned IT veteran, now in a senior business development role with Novell. As founder and CEO of PlateSpin, Stephen led the long-term business strategy for the company. For five years prior to PlateSpin's recent acquisition by Novell, Stephen and his team grew rapidly from startup to over $25M in annual revenue and established themselves as a global leading supplier of workload management solutions for the data centre.

Marzio Pozzuoli, RuggedCom

Marzio Pozzuoli is the founder, president and CEO of RuggedCom Inc., a publicly listed company on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX: RCM).  Mr. Pozzuoli has more than 20 years experience in developing  technology for mission-critical control applications  and  is the inventor of record of multiple patents related to this field. Prior to founding RuggedCom Mr. Pozzuoli was the technology manager at GE Power Management where he was responsible for the development of advanced protective relaying technology.  Mr. Pozzuoli is also a member of the IEEE where he is a contributing member in the development of new standards for communications networks used in the electric power industry.

Vik Sachdev, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP

Vik Sachdev is a partner in the Tax Services practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where he is the national leader for the firm's Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) tax practice. Vik has a broad range of experience providing income tax advice to both established and emerging companies, primarily in the technology sector.

Peter Smith, The Meaford Group

Peter is a twenty-nine year veteran of the IT industry, with experience in middle and senior management roles in sales, professional services and operations. Currently, Peter is the managing partner of his own consulting firm, The Meaford Group, which specializes in providing strategic business advice, organizational and operational consulting, and executive coaching to growing organizations that are building a culture of operational excellence.
