International perspectives on securitization transactions
To address some of the hottest topics in the industry, the international panel will cover FASB updates on FAS 140 and FIN 46R as well as securitization structures under IAS 39R. In addition, convergence of GAAP and IAS, including the similarities and differences, will be discussed with a consolidation example for application.
Accounting, tax and regulatory update During this panel, accounting, tax and regulatory developments will be addressed on how they affect the securitization industry. Panelists will cover topics, such as hybrids, restatement lessons from FAS 133 to the history of FAS 155, and the amendment of FAS 140. Reg AB will also be discussed in depth and will include best practices for asserting parties. In addition, CDOs, REMICs, CDS and more were addressed from a tax perspective.
Navigating through securitization structures The final panel will focus on a rating agency perspective of Hybrids as well as what activity we can expect this coming year with respect to CDO structures. Panelists will also provide a perspective on industry trends in the MBS sector. In addition, recordkeeping is an important topic that will be addressed so that you know what needs to be retained when the deal is closed.
