Ulysses 2005
United Nations Development Programme (UNDP): Growing sustainable business: Madagascar

The Ulysses team worked with United Nations Development Programme as part of the growing sustainable business initiative, more specifically on the Lokoho Rural Electrification Project. Their mission was to perform a socio-economic study in the Andapa and Sambava Districts of Madagascar, a study intended to guide the selection of project components best suitable for poverty reduction and economic growth.

Alliance of Major's Initiative against HIV/AIDS in Africa (AMICAALL): United Nations Office for Project Services: Namibia

The Alliance’s overall goal is to reduce the social and economic impact of the HIV/AIDS epidemic on communities in Africa by including programmes to address the development dimensions of the epidemic on their service delivery agendas. The main focus of the eight-week assignment was the development of a flexible, participatory and simple project management system for the AMICAALL Namibia programmes at a local level.

Ulysses 2006
BroadReach Healthcare: HIV/AIDS healthcare: South Africa

The focus of the PricewaterhouseCoopers assignment was to create a gold-standard toolkit, programme and system for rapid implementation of existing and new People Living with HIVAIDS community support programmes. The aim was to create a toolkit to be distributed to local churches, NGO’s and government to enable them to implement programmes with a consistent level of quality of support for patients on anti-retroviral treatments.
