Agility, or the ability to adapt to change, tops the list as a key source of competitive advantage for today's CEOs.


How do you induce change when so many change initiatives in business fail? At one time it was widely thought that you manage people through change. We believe that you need to manage change through people. This means enabling people to harness and drive change, instead of having to push or pull them in new directions. People have to be the owners and creators―not the subjects―of change.

In the 11th Annual Global CEO Survey, we asked over 1,150 CEOs in 50 countries what they would like to change. At the top of their list were:
