Roberto Setubal is CEO of Banco Itaύ. |
F. Roberto Setubal leads Banco Itaú, a privately owned bank headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. A graduate of Escola Politecnica da Universidade de São Paulo, with a Master's degree from Stanford University, Mr. Setubal explains in his interview why, as CEO of the country's largest private bank in the country (after Bradesco), he has a uniquely Brazilian perspective on such issues as globalisation, climate change, collaboration, business development and government regulation.
In this interview Mr. Setubal spells out the reasons for his bank's success, despite its lack of global access to foreign investors; why, as subscribers to the Ecuador Principles, "Itaú will not finance any investments that lead to pollution, or that lack certain minimum standards of quality in terms of atmospheric emissions"; and how a lack of talent, in virtually every one of Brazil's business sectors, is a problem that is "Not going to go away any time soon"..
