Country of Origin : Paying Less Duty

The country of origin of import goods is one of the main factors which determines eligibility (or not) for preferential duty treatment. You can make substantial duty savings by paying careful attention to the sourcing of imported materials and components.

Goods originating in the following countries can benefit from reduced or duty free access in the EU:

Albania, Algeria, Andorra, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ceuta & Melilla, Chile, Croatia, Egypt, The Faroe Islands, Iceland, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Liechtenstein, Macedonia (FYR), Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Serbia & Montenegro, South Africa, Switzerland, Syria, Territories of the West Bank & Gaza Strip (Palestinian Authority), Tunisia, Turkey.

In addition, goods from over 150 developing countries may also benefit from preferential duty access under the EU's Generalised System of Preference for Developing Countries (GSP) and special arrangements for Overseas Countries and Territories (OCT) and certain African, Caribbean and Pacific countries (ACP) through the Contonou Agreement.
