Mitchelstown Credit Union has recently celebrated 40 years of service in the provision of financial services to the 17,000 Members within its common bond. With the main office located at Credit Union House in the town, there are two sub-offices, at Knocklong and Ballylanders, and the Credit Union is the guardian of over €100m in total assets.
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the person appointed will be responsible for effective and efficient day to day operations, and will have a key role in supporting the Board in planning and leading ongoing development and growth. In particular, the General Manager will be an innovator, capable of developing and leading a strong campaign to grow the loan book among Members of the Credit Union.
Candidates will have the technical competence to manage a financial services provider both in accordance with Board policies and in regulatory compliance, together with the ability to design, develop and launch new products and services. They will have the energy and commitment to promote the credit union ethos and benefits to Members, and the empathy to work harmoniously within a voluntary, community-based organisation. The successful candidate will also have that particular combination of skills and experience which will enable him/her to lead and manage a dedicated professional staff in delivering a superior service to Members. A professional qualification together with relevant experience in the financial services and an exposure to the voluntary sector, will be especially valued.
This is a significant appointment which the Board of Mitchelstown Credit Union is now making. It represents an outstanding opportunity for a suitably qualified professional to make a worthwhile contribution to a substantial, community-based organisation. An attractive salary together with generous pension arrangements will reflect the calibre of the successful candidate.
