Russ Taylor 's twenty-five year background in the forest industry encompasses forestry, manufacturing, marketing and consulting positions. Mr. Taylor has been responsible for various mill management activities, such as log purchasing, custom cutting, value-added remanufacturing and new product development. He also has valuable woods experience gained through his position as Operations Forester for Northwood Pulp Limited. As well, Mr. Taylor has gained expertise in marketing lumber and specialty products throughout North America and overseas, holding positions in sales, marketing and remanufacturing.

Russ Taylor brings his production, marketing and woods expertise to bear in such areas as strategic and business planning, product and market development, and global marketing research. His particular talents lie in market and strategy development for commodity and specialty wood products, forecasting supply, demand and prices, and strategic planning.


Martin Glass

Martin is a leading market consultant in the Paper industry, specialising in coated, uncoated and newsprint paper markets and head of the market consulting firm EMGE & Co. Martin has completed numerous assignments in the industry, covering large and small private client reports, as well as market forecasts, feasibility studies and investment appraisals.

He began his career in 1977 with English China Clays, in the Corporate Planning and Market Planning Departments, where he worked over 10 years. At ECC, he was in charge of the Group’s planning activities in the paper industry, which included strategy, forecasting, market research and the competitor database. In 1988, he left ECC to join the consulting firm Hawkins Wright as Senior Partner. In 1993 he formed his own consulting company EMGE & Co., which has since developed into the world’s leading market research company specialising only in the Graphic Paper sector.

Martin has a Masters degree (M.Sc.) in Operational Research from the University of Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc. Hons) in Pure Maths from Southampton University, U.K. He is a director of PRIMA (the Paper and Related Industries Market Research Association).


Chadwick Wasilenkoff

Mr. Wasilenkoff is the founder of The Fortress Capital Market Group (FCMG), a Canadian-based private equity investment firm specializing in the financing and management of growth opportunities. FCMG has public and private investments in mining, oil & gas, manufacturing, pulp & paper and real estate.

Mr. Wasilenkoff is an experienced entrepreneur and business consultant who obtained his degree from the University of British Columbia in 1995. From December 1997 to October 2002 Mr. Wasilenkoff was an Investment Advisor and Certified Financial Planner with Canaccord Capital Corporation.

Mr. Wasilenkoff’s current positions include: President, CEO, and Director of Fortress Paper Ltd.; President, CEO, and Director of Fortress Base Metals Inc.; CEO and Director of Fortress Financial Corporation. Mr. Wasilenkoff’s background includes President, CEO and Director positions at Calterra Freehold Ventures Inc., and Titan Uranium Inc.

Mr. Wasilenkoff is also the CEO and Director of several private corporations.

Michael Armstrong is a Director in the PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Global Forest, Paper and Packaging Practice in Vancouver. He is a Registered Professional Forester and a Chartered Accountant. After graduating in 1993 from the University of British Columbia, he was an Assistant Forster with Canadian Forest Products in Port Mellon. Michael has been with PwC for ten years including five years in the Ottawa office.

He has worked on a variety of forestry related projects while at PwC; for example, he assisted the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources with their submission to the United States in relation to the Softwood Lumber Dispute, led an assessment of the financial state of the three forest research institutes in Canada (Forintek, FERIC, and Paprican), conducted over 20 forest management audits (SFI) in the United States and conducted a review of the application process for the Softwood Industry Community Economic Adjustment Initiative for Western Economic Diversification Canada.

Since its inception, Michael has been the project manager for PwC’s administration of the British Columbia Forest Investment Account – Forest Science Program. His role includes the administration of the annual $12.0 million call for proposals and the monitoring of the funded projects.

Michael is an ex-officio member of the Forest Science Board, a member of the finance committee for the Association of BC Forest Professionals and a member of the Canadian Institute of Forestry.
