Mike MacCallum retired from active partnership in PricewaterhouseCoopers at the end of the last millenium. Mike qualified as a Scottish Chartered Accountant in 1961 and was admitted to partnership in Price Waterhouse in Vancouver in 1974. He subsequently became the first leader of PW's global forest and paper industry practice. A management consultant, Mike undertook extensive work in and for companies in the industry, industry associations, and federal and provincial governments. The work involved cost studies and international cost comparisons, cost reduction, reorganizations , investigations, countervailing duties, systems design and implementation plus general advice and guidance. Since retiring Mike has taken up grape growing in Australia but continues to spend the majority of his time here in BC, skiing, biking, golfing and enjoying his grandchildren .


Mike Apsey, C.M.

Mike Apsey has extensive working experience in government, industry, consulting, and in industrial associations in Canada and on assignments in numerous countries throughout the world. From 1978-1984 he served as Deputy Minister of Forests for the Province of British Columbia and from 1984-1998 he was President and CEO of the Council of Forest Industries

Mr. Apsey has written and spoken extensively on all aspects of the forest sector and has participated in many regional, national and international forest related initiatives, studies, committees, task forces, reviews and conferences. He holds directorships on numerous national and international business, academic, research, environmental, and service organizations. He is past Chair of the Tree Canada Foundation, the National Forest Strategy Coalition and Wildlife Habitat Canada. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Sustainable Development Technology Canada and the Forest History Society - Canada. He is a Director Emeritus of the Pacific Salmon Foundation
