About PwC's Public Sector Research Centre

PricewaterhouseCoopers' Public Sector Research Centre provides insights and research into best practice in government and the public sector, including the interface between the public and private sectors. Our evidence-based research enables a collaborative exchange of views on key public sector issues. This draws on the perspectives of public sector organisations themselves, our own global network of professionals (with day-to-day experience of the challenges facing the public sector), leading think tanks and academics.

The Centre has a particular focus on how to achieve the more effective delivery of better public services and infrastructure, both nationally and internationally. Our research goes well beyond the few issues which, at any one time, dominate opinion polls or media interest. It covers a wide range of areas - often detailed and unglamorous - that can escape the headlines but where our professional skills and experience, and our global reach, mean we can contribute to good policy making and effective delivery of public services.

Our goal is to stimulate informed debate on public services and make effective, practical contributions on a wide range of issues including:
    • Delivering customer-centric services
    • Making public service markets work
    • Delivering public services cost-effectively
    • Increasing transparency and accountability
    • Delivering sustainable development
    • Building public sector capabilities

Our research-based projects involve both the development of in-house points of view and reports on relevant public service issues as well as collaborations with leading think tanks to develop new thinking on better approaches to the delivery of public services.
