PricewaterhouseCoopers partners with Automotive News to bring you regular news on stock performance. Included are the Global automotive shareholder value indices featured in Automotive News, and the European automotive shareholder value indices featured in Automotive News Europe, and "Stock Watch", which appears in each issue of Automotive News and Automotive News Europe.

Our shareholder value indices have been created to reflect the growing importance of shareholder value to vehicle manufacturers, suppliers and publicly traded retailers. The Total Shareholder Return Index for the three sectors is calculated by average total shareholder returns for a group of publicly traded companies in that sector. The average is weighted by market capitalisation, which is the value of a company's share price multiplied by the number of shares outstanding. This method allows the performance of companies with larger market capitalisation to have a greater impact on the index.

Each company's total shareholder return is measured by taking account of the movement of its share price, stock splits and stock buybacks, as well as reinvestment of any cash dividend. The calculation assumes all dividends are reinvested to buy additional shares.

The 2007 Global Shareholder Value Award winners were presented on 23 January, 2008 at the Automotive News World Congress Gala dinner, in Detroit, Michigan. The eighth annual European Shareholder Value Awards will be presented on 20 May, 2008 at the Automotive News Europe Congress in Turin, Italy.
