Ville Jaakonsalo Senior Vice President, Finance, Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab, Espoo, Finland
| Ville Jaakonsalo was appointed to his current CFO position at Botnia in 2005. From 2002 through to 2005 he was responsible for long-term funding and finance law in Metsäliitto Group, the 5th biggest company in Finland. Prior to joining Metsäliitto he worked as corporate law attorney. He has an LL.M. from University of Helsinki, an MBA from Helsinki Swedish School of Economics and Business Administration and several years of studies in international politics. |
Hannu Ryöppönen Senior Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Stora Enso Oyj, London, United Kingdom
| During 1977-1985, Mr. Ryöppönen held various executive positions at Chemical Bank in the US and the UK and Alfa Laval in the US and Sweden. In 1985 he was appointed Executive Vice President of the IKEA Group, based in Denmark.From 1999, Mr. Ryöppönen served as Finance Director of the Private Equity firm Industri Kapital Group based in London before joining Royal Ahold in the Netherlands as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer in 2003.In September 2005, Mr Ryöppönen was appointed Senior Executive Vice President & CFO of Stora Enso Oyj, based in London, where he is responsible for Finance & Strategy.Mr. Ryöppönen is a graduate of the Swedish School of Economics, Helsinki where he earned a BA in Business Administration. |
Björn Stigson President, World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Geneva, Switzerland
| Björn Stigson has had extensive experience in international business. He began his career as financial analyst with the Swedish Kockums Group. From 1971-82 he help finance, operations and marketing positions with ESAB, the international supplier of welding equipment. In 1983 he became President and CEO of the Fläkt Group, a company listed on the Stockholm stock exchange and the world leader in environmental control technology. Following the acquisition of Fläkt by Asea Brown Boveri (ABB) in 1991 Mr. Stigson became Executive Vice President and a member of ABB’s Executive Management Group. From 1993-94 he ran his own management consultancy. 1995 he was appointed President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) in Geneva, which is a coalition of some 190 leading international corporations. Mr. Stigson has served on several advisory boards and councils of a variety of international organizations, including; Government of China, Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes, Dean’s Council of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, Clinton Global Initiative, Global Reporting Initiative, and the International Risk Governance Council. |

| Clive Suckling is a graduate of Oxford University and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.Originally in audit, he has over 20 years experience in advising international companies on mergers, acquisitions and disposals, capital markets transactions, cross-border investment and corporate reporting.Through his responsibility for developing PwC’s business in Scandinavia, Mr. Suckling has worked with many of the world’s leading forest products companies based in that region over the past 15 years. This experience includes acting as lead adviser to a major Scandinavian company on the acquisition of timber and panel distribution businesses across Europe. He has also acted for a number of non-European forest products companies on cross-border investment strategies. Since 1 July 2005, he has acted as Director of PwC’s Global Forest, Paper & Packaging Industry Practice, with responsibility for developing the firms’ thinking and services towards that sector on a global basis. |
