IT Workshop
During the summer, the Global Technology Solutions (GTS) department provides complimentary IT Training to elementary school and high school students (8-16 years old), where students are instructed on how to use computer programmes such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as how to browse the Internet, design a web page and use digital photography.
Summer Job Scheme
During the summer months, high school and university students (15-25 years old) have the opportunity to work full-time for PwC. The exact nature of the work depends on which area of our business students are interested in i.e. Assurance, Advisory, Tax and Legal Services or Internal Firm Services.
Apart from a monthly salary, students also receive substantial exposure to the work that we do, developing the kind of confidence-boosting experience and skills that will help them through university and make a big difference to their subsequent employability and earning power.
Career Counselling Services
The Human Capital Department provides, twice a year, complimentary and confidential Career Counselling services to teenage high school students (14-18 years old).
Career Counselling is based on scientific methodology and aims to help students choose the profession that fits them best, by taking into consideration the students’ interests, abilities, personality characteristics and job motivation. In other words, it is a consulting service, which provides direction to students, in order to help them make the best possible decision towards a career path.
The Career Counselling procedure takes place as follows:
- Part I: Assessment of Abilities, Interests, Personality and Motivation.
- Part II: One-to-one meeting and discussion of assessment results with a Career Counsellor.
Getting advice on crucial career issues from Career Counselling professionals is a unique opportunity, and the participating students derive a lot of benefits from this.
CV Writing and Interview Skills Workshop
During the summer, the Human Capital Department offers complimentary guidance to college/university students (18-25 years old) on:
- How to write an effective CV, an important tool of the job search process, through a one-day workshop.
- How to master interview techniques, and effectively deal with a formal job interview, through a mock interview.
The workshop is based on practice, rather than theory, and places students a step ahead of other job seekers.
