Inclusive workplace

A diverse workplace provides us with a rich, multifaceted culture, providing a variety of viewpoints and multicultural capabilities that our clients expect. Diversity also gives our staff role models with similar life experiences to guide them in their careers. Finally, improved diversity is the right response to the marketplace, where our increasingly diverse clients and prospects expect us to keep pace with them. We will, therefore, continue to focus on ways to better attract, develop, and retain people of diverse backgrounds.

It's critical that we mirror our clients' experiences and world views. Business-critical.

The more diverse we are, the better we'll know the cultural and economic environments in which our clients operate. When we don't have to deal with a learning curve in that arena — when we call a particular region home or have personal experience with a relevant issue — we'll be able to advance our clients' interests that much faster.

That is, the best thinking derives from a broad range of perspectives, which may vary based on gender, culture and background. And certainly, such perspectives enrich our day-to-day interactions with each other. That's why we insist on an inclusive culture.

The professionals of our Office of Diversity and Worklife and the local diversity and worklife leaders around the country administer formal and informal programs that support the personal and career development of people of diverse backgrounds, including women and minorities.
