Finished audit fieldwork at a major bank, where we’ve spent a week auditing the financial statements and another week assessing the internal controls. The company is owned by an Australian organisation, audited by PwC over the Tasman. We’ll talk to our Australian PwC colleagues, so they’re up to date on their client’s NZ business.

Out to lunch! The work’s done and our team of eight heads out for lunch to celebrate with our client. I’ve recently returned from a four-month secondment to PwC in London and everyone wants to know how I found the work and lifestyle there.

Back to the office, meet with my team to talk about the upcoming audit of a big insurance company. The Partner leading our team briefs us confidentially on a major acquisition the company is about to make that will have implications on how we handle the audit.

Back to my desk and send a few emails. Check out intranet for news and gossip from around the Firm.

Last Friday of the month means it’s drinks for everyone in the Firm. Always a great turnout of people enjoying the chance to unwind after a busy week, sharing a few beers, a few stories… and a few slices of pizza!
