Education
The education system of Aruba is derived from the Dutch educational system.
This system provides education on all levels. Educating your child on Aruba ensures a strong primary education.
At present there are 32 primary schools for children in the age-group of 6-12 years. On the island we have also primary schools for children with learning difficulties.
A segmented secondary school program includes vocational training (LTO), basic education (MAVO), college prep (HAVO) and advanced placement (VWO).
Higher education is also possible on the island without the need to leave this paradise; your child can pursue higher education goals through
the Professional Education program EPI, the teachers college of IPA as well as through the University of Aruba (UA) which offers bachelors and masters programs in law, finance and economics and hospitality and tourism management and the Xavier University and All Saints University that specialize in medicine. Even though the choices for higher education may be limited, the government supports all the students with a student loans to study abroad in countries such as North America, South America as well as Europe.
