WHAT we do
Assurance/Audit
Assurance comprises a variety of work, including statutory audit and group reporting, review of treasury operations, review of finance function, compliance with current and new regulations. Auditors check companies’ accounts and give assurance to stockholders that the financial statements are “true and fair”. They also provide accounting advice with regard to Slovak accounting principles, IFRS and other accounting systems. PwC is engaged by large Slovak and international businesses to perform audits and provide other advisory services.
Tax
Everyday in our work at Tax, we face complex intellectual challenges. We spend a lot of time looking for solutions in areas of legislation where there are no definitive right or wrong answers. We provide leading-edge tax compliance and consulting services to help clients optimize their domestic and international tax positions and assist them in dealing with constantly changing, complex regulatory requirements. We provide advice in relation to inbound investment, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, corporate restructuring and transfer pricing. Our services comprise corporate, personal and indirect taxation services, including tax planning advice, tax registration and tax filling services, consultancy in VAT, excise duty, customs procedures, etc. Day-to-day work involves researching tax problems, interpreting legislation, identifying precedents and preparing advice.
Advisory
Business advisors work with our clients’ management teams and strive to help them improve their business systems and processes, strengthen their risk management structures and ensure compliance with regulatory or accounting developments. Our consultants combine expert knowledge of valuation, audit and due-diligence techniques to provide well-reasoned and clearly documented advice. They liaise with management of local and foreign clients, which include overseas groups, private companies, individual shareholders, management teams, and government agencies. Working in these roles our staff is challenged to think broadly about nature of our clients overall corporate strategy and their specific business needs. They are required to be flexible and responsive and are accustomed to working within time constraints on several challenging projects simultaneously.
