PricewaterhouseCoopers has a long-term interest in the sustainability of the communities in which we live and work. Through the PwC Foundation, we are taking a strategic and focused approach to the way we utilise our skills and expertise in the community. We call this PwC Capacity Building.
Our key focus is developing deeper links with our 21 charity partners and understanding how best to support their business needs. The aim of this approach is to ensure that the capacity building work undertaken adds strategic value to the organisation, and maximises the impact PwC can have in providing skilled resources.
Capacity Building opportunities are identified by our people, through our clients or direct requests from eligible organisations to the PwC Foundation. Each opportunity is evaluated against a set of criteria that supports the objectives of the Foundation. We also facilitate and encourage our senior people to take up leadership roles as Directors with selected not-for-profit organisations.

- Australian Red Cross: Process mapping and improvements
- Youth Off The Streets: Strategy and business planning
- Guide Dogs Australia: Employment workshops
- Landcare Australia: Audit
- WWF: Support for Earth hour, including event coordination, project management and legal support
- Urban Seed: Tax Clinics
- Starlight Children’s Foundation Australia: Risk policy and procedures
We believe that encouraging our people to utilise their expertise and leadership skills by delivering Capacity Building engagements to community organisations is one of the most satisfying and rewarding things we can do.
